Lake Lake

Turtle Lake (Kus Tba, Korkis Tba) is a lake in Tbilisi, on the northern slope of the Mtatsminda ridge, 686.7 m above sea level. Surface area 0.034 km², basin area 0.4 km², greatest depth 2.6 m, average depth 1.7 m. The lake is 180 m long and 50 m wide, set in a small hollow formed by exotectonic processes (mainly landslide creep of the rocks). The water of the Varazikhevi is diverted into the lake, which is also fed by rain and groundwater. It is poor in fish. Turtle Lake and its surroundings are landscaped; sporting events are often held here, and a cable car runs up to the lake.
