A medieval fortress in southern Georgia, in Javakheti, in the village of Khertvisi, at the confluence of the Paravani and Mtkvari rivers, on a high rocky hill (Aspindza municipality). Khertvisi was an active stronghold throughout the feudal era. Since 2007 Khertvisi, together with the Vardzia monastery, has been on UNESCO's World Heritage tentative list.
