St. Tadeoz of Stepantsminda first labored in Mtskheta, where he built a monastery at the foot of Zedazeni. The saint preached in Kartli and built many churches there, including the church of the Protomartyr Stephen in Urbnisi. He then withdrew to a cave on Mount Tsleva (near Kaspi), where he died and is buried.
