The sanctuary preserves a 17th-century fresco of the Mother of God with the archangels, and frescoes of the apostles. Khutsuri and Latin inscriptions survive on the church walls. The churchyard is enclosed by an 18th-century towered wall. In the yard stands a tall 16th-century bell tower. In the 18th century Bishop Saba Tusishvili added a two-story episcopal house to the bell tower; today it houses the episcopal residence and the St. Nino convent
