Diklo draws attention with its architecture and its ornamented houses. Around it are dense rocky pine woods, home to some of the earth's rarest animals — the East Caucasian tur and the chamois. Near the village stands Diklo fortress, which holds its own place in the history of Tusheti: the locals pass down from generation to generation the heroic tale of Diklo's 16 warrior heroes who long defended the village. In the middle of Diklo stands a shrine which, by custom, women may not enter. Near the village are sulfur mineral springs often visited by tourists. The border checkpoint is also close by — from here begins the neutral zone with Russia.
