The Shalikashvili (Mother of God) church dates to the 10th–11th centuries. The earthquake of 1920 almost completely destroyed it. According to the Mkhedruli inscription above the west door, a chapel, gateway and belltower (not preserved) were built in 1708 by Edisher Shalikashvili.
