Lake Lake

Bebesiri is a group of lakes in Abkhazia, Gali municipality, in the basin of the lower Okumi River. Didi Bebesiri and Bebesiri lie on the right side of the Okumi, Patara Bebesiri on the left. The lakes formed when coastal dunes dammed the rivers. Didi Bebesiri has a surface area of 0.61 km² and a greatest depth of 4.5 m; Bebesiri, respectively, 0.14 km² and 4.6 m; Patara Bebesiri, 0.1 km² and 1.7 m. The lakes are fed by rain and groundwater. Much of their surface is covered with algae. They are rich in fish (pike, carp, catfish, bream and others). Nutria were once raised here. Bebesiri is used to irrigate tea plantations.
