The hall-type church of Chkhortoli, village of Chkhortoli, Ochamchire district, 9th–10th centuries. Twenty-six km from the district center of Gali, on the northwestern edge of the Samurzakano lowland between the Okhoje and Okumistskali rivers, lies the village of Chkhortoli, on whose territory two churches survive. The church in the village center was built at the turn of the 19th–20th centuries by local nobles and the "Society for the Restoration of Christianity", while the second, hall-type church stands 5 km northwest of the village, deep in the valley of the Jukhu, a tributary of the Okhoje, on the river's left side, on a small level patch of a gentle slope.
