In the 19th century this was marshland. In 1933 the city garden was converted into a children's park, and the park and lakeshore were landscaped. A canal connected it to the Black Sea. In 1947 the first boat, the "Pioneer", was launched on the lake, followed on October 28, 1988, by the "Aisi". It is rich in fish, including silver carp, carp and others. The May 6 Park is laid out on the shore. Many legends and historical episodes are linked with Nuri Lake.
