A lake of volcanic-tectonic type in southern Georgia (Ninotsminda municipality), 2,073 m above sea level. Its surface area is 37.5 km², maximum depth 3.3 m, volume 91 million m³. In winter the ice thickness varies between 47 and 73 cm. It is fed by the Shaori, Sabadostskali and Rodionovskistskali rivers, and the Paravani River rises from the lake. The lake is rich in fish (khramulya, trout, white bream, carp, chub and others). Around Lake Paravani lie the villages of Poka, Vladimirovka, Tambovka, Rodionovka and Aspara.
