The dry-built cyclopean fortress of Abuli stands near the village of Abuli. At its entrance, where the old cart road and the motor road meet, stone-box graves lie right at the surface. Abuli fortress, grand and complex in plan, sits on the southern slope of Patara Abuli Mountain, 1,670 m above sea level. Here the whole ridge is covered with moraines.
