The Nativity of the Mother of God convent stands in the fortified residence of Mdzovreti, in the village of Ortubani, Kareli municipality. Its construction is directly linked to the transfer of the Tsitsishvili feudal seat from Samtsevrisi. The complex dates to the 17th–18th centuries and includes the Church of the Nativity of the Mother of God and a seven-story bell tower.
