During design, research and clearing works at the church, a unique silver hanging lamp (kandeli) was discovered in the monument's eastern section, between the layers of collapsed roof tiles and the rubble of the fallen vault. By its palaeographic features and ornamental motifs the lamp dates to the High Middle Ages; its analogues are rare in scholarly publications and museum collections. The Draneti lamp is an important example of medieval Georgian metalwork.
