In the three-church basilica of Nedzvi, as in the other monuments of the Borjomi valley dated to the 9th–first half of the 10th century, the western ambulatory of the Chitakhevi monastery church (9th century) was separated from the southern one by arches carried on a massive pier; in some cases this section is separated by a wall (Gujriskhevi, Sanaria, Sakire...). The peculiarity of our church is that, unlike all the other monuments, no entrance is cut from the west. In other respects, the greater or lesser division of the ambulatory sections in all of them stands in contrast to the ambulatories merged into a single flow in the classical era (Kvelatsminda of Zegani, Amidasturi, the three-church basilica of Nekresi).
