Near the village of Vashlovani stands the medieval tower of Kosi. The tower was never used for military purposes: it was built in 1811 as a place of entertainment and banqueting for Georgian aristocrats, and was accordingly named Salkhino ("place of feasting"). It now stands empty, but is still very interesting to visit.
