The Katskhi Pillar is a column-like limestone denudation "witness" — a residual rock — in the village of Katskhi, Chiatura municipality, on the watershed between the Katskhura (a right tributary of the Kvirila) and the Ghvitori (a left tributary of the Buja). The pillar is 40 meters high. Some researchers hold that the Katskhi Pillar was originally a dwelling of Monophysite hermits, though this view is not universally accepted for lack of adequate evidence. On the pillar's upper platform stand two small churches.
