The Church of the Mother of God (3.5 × 2.9 m) is hewn into the rock, and the steps leading up to it are cut in the rock as well. The entrance is on the west, with a small window above it. On the east is a deep horseshoe apse, on whose axis is carved a slightly recessed arched niche; below stands a rectangular altar stone, also cut from the rock. In the north wall is a wide arched niche. A high platform runs along the apse, with a two-stepped stair in the middle. The apse's flat conch rests at the corners on pilasters with shelf-like capitals and matching bases. The church's ceiling is flat, curving into the long walls in a segmental profile.
