Church Church

The Trinity church of Dzegvi is a hall church (12.2 × 6.5 m) built of well-dressed yellowish-brown sandstone blocks. It has two entrances — on the south (walled up) and on the west — arched inside and topped with architraves outside. On the east is a deep sanctuary set off by broad shoulders and a two-stepped triumphal arch spanning them. At the springing of the arch are capitals of complex profile (a concave surface set between two narrow shelves); their lower part is smooth on the front, while at the sides of the apse their profile consists of a shelf and a sloping surface. On the apse axis is an arched window, with one arched niche to its north
