Before it emptied, the village comprised 25 households, mainly of the following families: the Iukuri (Iukuridze) and the Itiuri (Itiuridze). The villagers first moved to Girevi, then most came down to Kakheti. The village had two feast days: "Madoloba", celebrated at the end of the month of Mkatatve (July) and dedicated to St. John the Baptist; and "Tursiekhoba", held two months after Easter.
