Situated on the bank of the Aragvi River over an area of 242 hectares. Its average yield is 3,000 l/s, of which 2,000 l/s flows by gravity to Tbilisi and 1,000 l/s is pumped to the junction chamber of the Saguramo aqueduct. A chemical laboratory operates in Bulachauri to monitor water quality. The aqueduct entered service in 1951.
