Built in the 8th–9th centuries. In this church, on the night of the feast of Christ's Resurrection, as the venerable fathers were celebrating the Paschal matins and processing around the church with candles, Shah Abbas saw them from afar and advanced on them with his army; and as the monks were celebrating the Divine Liturgy and had just received the Holy Mysteries, at that very moment the infidel fell upon them and slaughtered 6,000 monks like paschal lambs.
