The founding of Ulumbo monastery is attributed to Michael of Ulumbo, one of the Thirteen Assyrian Fathers. The monastery is located in Georgia, in Shida Kartli, Khashuri municipality, 13 km north of Khashuri, in the valley of a right tributary of the Chiratkheula River.
