The village of Sujuna lies on the Odishi lowland, 7 km from the center of Abasha. Its greatest treasure and antiquity is the three-apsed, domed St. George's church standing in the center of Sujuna, built at the end of the 18th and the beginning of the 19th century. It is distinguished by refined architecture, clean and evenly laid stonework and original carved ornament, rarely matched among monuments of the 18th–19th centuries. "St. George of Sujuna" was considered a powerful icon in old Samegrelo. Sujuna is four kilometers from Abasha station. It was the winter seat of the Chkondideli bishops and ranked first after Martvili.
