Founded in 1935, it preserves more than 48,000 exhibits: materials on agriculture, animal husbandry, metalworking, wall painting, small sculpture, heraldry and folk festivals; a silver Colchian didrachm; drachmas; coins of Tamar and David Narin; the Gori hoard (15th century); coins of the ancient world; and epigraphic monuments in Georgian and Arabic.
