A wine cellar of German architecture in the village of Asureti, Tetritskaro municipality, was built in 1931 by the German community; here wine from the Georgian Shala grape was made exclusively with German technology. Asuretian Shala is an old Georgian grape variety that a German peasant named Shalma found in the forest and brought to the village. The cellar has three stories, the first of cellar type, with 27 reinforced-concrete wine vats built into its walls.
