Fighters who died heroically in the Battle of Marabda. According to tradition, they are buried nearby, on the edge of the village of Dzveli Marabda near St. Marine's church. The story of the brave self-sacrifice of the nine Kherkheulidze brothers is widely reflected in Georgian folklore.
