A town in eastern Georgia, the administrative center of Kaspi municipality, laid out on the banks of the Lekhura River. The railway station stands 560 m above sea level, 48 km from Tbilisi. It was declared a town in 1959. Population 19,900 (2005). The town has industrial enterprises and healthcare, educational and cultural institutions. Feudal-era churches survive in Kaspi — Kviratskhoveli, the Mother of God and "Shubnishani".
