The Avkveti church is a hall church (16.8 × 13.7 m) built of dressed stone, with pink and green facing stone. The interior walls are laid with small stones. The building is damaged (details to be confirmed): only the lower parts of the walls of the church and the western chambers survive; the chapels adjoining the church on the south and north — much lower and narrower than the church itself — are also destroyed, with only the outlines of their plans visible.
