The Vere Church of the Mother of God dates to the 6th century, remodeled in the 11th. The building is a three-nave basilica (10.7 × 7.5 m) faced inside and out with red and gray stone, with travertine also used. The structure is badly damaged: the vaulted roof and the upper parts of the walls have collapsed, and the southern chapel and western gateway are entirely buried. The church has three entrances — north, south and west. The apse and the west wall each have one window, the long walls two each.
