The museum preserves a unique collection of mechanical dolls (European and Georgian) and artist-made dolls, among them flamenco dancers, an Indian chief and Japanese ladies, heroes of Georgian fairy tales and literary works, dancers, as well as various toys, antique furniture, books, works of fine and applied art, a rare collection of embroidery and more. In the 1990s the museum was robbed and several precious exhibits were lost, after which it effectively ceased to function. On the initiative of the Tbilisi mayor's office, the doors of the rehabilitated museum have been open to visitors again since 2008. A souvenir salon operates at the museum.
