The Church of the Mother of God of Bneleti is a three-church basilica (11.5 × 10.2 m) built of rubble stone with a travertine facing. The church is now almost entirely sunk into the earth. Originally a single church stood here; later a lower apsed church (chapel) was added along its full length on both the north and the south. The entrance is in the south wall, from which all three parts of the church can be reached. The central hall is large, with windows on the east, west and south, and a vaulted roof. Fragments of wall painting survive in the hall.
