A historic fortress in Georgia, in Trialeti, on a rocky summit of the Trialeti range (Tetritskaro municipality). From here both the southern lands — the environs of Tsalka and Manglisi — and the northern valleys of the Tana and Tedzami rivers spread out as if in the palm of one's hand. Ruins survive today. It stood at an important crossroads, where a cleft in the rock forms a passage — hence the name Kldekari, meaning "rock gate".
