Samtsvera

Waterfall Imereti, Terjola district

Waterfall Waterfall

The Samtsvera waterfall lies east of the village of Zovreti and southwest of the village of Kveda Sazano, 170 meters above sea level. It is 15 kilometers from the town of Zestaponi, in the valley of the Dzusa River; an asphalt road passes close by, and a 200-meter footpath leads right up to the waterfall. The waterfall pours down curtain-like into the valley of the Dzusa. You can bathe in the gently flowing crystal-clear river and capture beautiful shots all around. Forest lines both banks of the river, creating a snug and pleasant setting. At the head of the waterfall an artificial weir has been built, from which lovely views unfold. The Samtsvera waterfall is one of the most interesting places in western Georgia. Just a few dozen kilometers away you can also visit other wonders of nature — the Kinchkha waterfall, Prometheus Cave and the Okatse canyon.
