On the museum's first floor, in a Svan machubi (dwelling hall), are exhibited the personal belongings of the famous mountaineer, international master of sport Mikheil Khergiani (1932–1969): ethnographic material characteristic of Svan life — furniture, vessels, farming tools, clothing — his climbing equipment and icons. Three halls are devoted to the history of the Georgian mountaineering school, M. Khergiani's travels in various countries of the world, photographs, awards and gifts, among them paintings, books, documentary films, a recording of the song Vladimir Vysotsky dedicated to Khergiani, and recent photographs of the achievements of Georgian climbers
