In the 16th–17th centuries the village of Noste belonged to the Saakadze family. The family's main branch (royal gentry) lived in the upper part of the Ateni valley, in the Tanastskali gorge and around Razmiti, where their old hereditary villages of Peli and Kikanatberi lay. From the 15th century the Saakadzes began expanding their estates into the Tedzami valley, to which Giorgi's father Siaush and his uncles greatly contributed.
