According to the Life of the Assyrian Father Ioane of Zedazeni, the monastic church of St. George at Kasuri, Saguramo, was founded in the 6th century by Tata of Stepantsminda, a disciple of Ioane of Zedazeni, during Ioane's own lifetime.
