The church of St. Seraphim of Sarov in the village of Samreklo, Dedoplistskaro municipality, which had been seriously damaged, reopened on August 1, 2012. Built in the 19th century, it is the only church in Georgia dedicated to St. Seraphim of Sarov. The cross-domed church of the early 20th century (probably 1903–1905) stands on the edge of the village of Samreklo and is distinguished by forms characteristic of Russian architecture. It is thought to be the first church in the world built in the name of St. Seraphim of Sarov.
