Church Church

St. George's church of Gaichaantubani is a hall church (21 × 15 m including annexes) built of well-dressed oblong sandstone blocks. By tradition, the church was built by Greek masters. The church is damaged: the vault and conch have collapsed, the upper parts of the south and west walls are broken down, and the wooden chancel screen is dismantled (fragments lie before the sanctuary); ruins of the annexes survive. The church has four entrances — on the south, on the west, and two at the outer ends of the north wall (both walled up). The south and west entrances are arched inside and rectangular outside.
