Batumi is a city and municipality in Georgia, the administrative center of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, a city since 1878. Population: 180,000. Batumi is a major international port on the southeastern Black Sea coast, the terminus of the Baku–Batumi railway and oil pipeline and a road junction. It lies 5 m above sea level, 350 km from Tbilisi (by rail).
