The Church of the Mother of God of Didi Gardateni dates to the developed feudal era. It is a hall church (8.2 × 4.7 m) built of dressed sandstone blocks. Fragments of stone latticework survive. The entrance — arched inside, topped by an architrave outside — is on the south. On either side of the apse's arched window are niches, and in the north wall one wide rectangular niche. The hall is covered with a semicircular vault bearing traces of repair. Before the sanctuary stands a 19th-century chancel screen with surviving fragments of oil-painted decoration (with inscriptions).
