Kvirsatskhoveli Church of Zemo (Upper) Mleta

Church Mtskheta-Mtianeti, Dusheti district

Church Church

The Kviratskhoveli church is a hall church (4.5 × 4.9 m) without an apse, built of rubble stone and slate. The roof and cornice have been replaced. The entrance is from the south, the door spanned by a flat lintel. The east and south walls each have a rectangular window; the east window has a stepped sill, with the altar stone set against the wall beneath it and a rectangular niche on either side. Two similar niches are in each of the north and west walls. The church is covered with a vault whose cross-section forms a three-centered arch.
