Lomisa was a pre-Christian deity in Mtiuleti. Folk tradition links the name to the ox Loma. Later the cult became associated with a lunar deity, as shown by the fact that the cultic images of the ox (its horns) often have the shape of a new moon. According to the legends and rituals, Lomisa was a hunter and horseman deity.
