The church bears no dating inscription. In its floor are two graves, of Luarsab and Dimitri Cherkezishvili. They were evidently brothers — both are recorded as sons of Iorami, their mother as a daughter of the amilakhvar-steward. The chronicon on the grave of fourteen-year-old Luarsab yields 1794, that of Dimitri 1818. From these records we can only say that the church was built before 1794. No other written material survives.
