The Church of the Mother of God of Sveneti is a hall church (9.6 × 5.8 m) built of cobble and rubble stone; the building's corners and the outer surrounds of the door and windows are laid with rubble stone and square brick. The church is damaged: the roof has collapsed, part of the semicircular vault survives on the north and south walls, and there are pilasters at both corners of the west wall. The interior plaster has fallen away. On the south the church has a door topped by an architrave and an arched window; there is one similar window each on the east (in the apse) and west. On either side of the semicircular apse window is a rectangular niche. A shelf-like cornice of square brick survives on the north and south facades.
