The main building of the Tskhrakara monastery, a basilica, was built in the mid-5th century. It is rectangular in plan (10 × 8.7 m), built of cobblestone and small rubble stone, with the structurally critical parts executed in yellowish travertine. The south nave was separated from the main nave by a blind wall and connected to it by a single entrance
