The Church of the Nativity of the Savior of Zemo Bethlehem (originally Bethlehem, later Petkhaini) has come down to us in its 18th–19th-century form. In 1884 the church was thoroughly repaired, its facade renewed and a new dome raised. In the Soviet period the church did not function. In 1994 it passed to the Georgian Orthodox Church and was consecrated in the name of the Nativity of the Savior.
