An architectural monument in Mtskheta, standing at the head of the Armaziskhevi gorge on a high, hard-to-reach rocky mountain between two ravines. It dates to the 13th–15th centuries. The fortress consists of an enclosure wall and a tower, built of rubble stone, and is badly damaged. The entrance was on the southeast (traces survive). The wall is roughly trapezoidal in plan (26 × 27.5 m); the tower stands in its southern part and takes the form of a triangular prism with rounded edges (sides 13.5 m long).
