At the end of the 19th century 40 households lived in the village; in the 1920s there were still 13 (53 people), of the Tavberidze, Alkhanaidze, Shakhadze, Tataraidze, Lukhumaidze, Khelaidze, Khapridze and Omaraidze families. Later, in the Soviet period, the village slowly emptied completely. Nowadays the people of Dano, who long ago resettled in Kakheti, come up in summer.
